I am looking at a 1987 Savage 650. Looks are good for its age. My only concern is a faint yet noticeable ticking from the top of the cylinder. Doesn't seem to effect performance. Mileage is high at 39000. Asking price is 800.00 US. To look at it, it is calling my name. The ticking worries me. Local mechanics opinions vary from "older bikes just tick" to "whatever you do don't buy it, it's a lemon". Not sure who to beleive. I would love to get some opinions from this forum.
